Pool Season

With the pool opening there are always issues. Having to replace the Access Controls has complicated that further, but the Board is working through each issue as quickly as we can. With the new Access Cards ther have been some real issues and some user issues. But beyond the cards we are seeing a resurgence of issues that we see every year at the beginning of the season. There has been a slew of unaccompanied children at the pool in large groups. These children exacerbate the issue by opening the gate for other children. Adults have tried to intervene, and the children ignore them, talk back and continue to let anyone into the pool. If someone is there with a non-working card, do not presume it is a glitch. Many people have old and new cards that have not paid their dues and their cards do not open the gate for a reason. Likewise, just because you recognize a resident does not mean that they have paid their dues so please do not let anyone into the pool who does not have a working card. We have also had a slew of damage in the pool already this year. Someone has bent the ladder and broken the rope less than a week after opening. The rope is $65 and the ladder is $350. We will be reviewing the footage and will begin deactivating pool access for residents who damage equipment. But when people are let into the pool who do not live here, we cannot do much to them for damage they cause as identification in near impossible.

All residents have the right to protect HOA property, and Board members are not the only ones responsible for maintaining and speaking up when you see issues. If you see disorderly/inappropriate conduct or trespass and do not feel comfortable confronting the situation, we encourage you to call the non-emergency police number, 205-629-3333. The pool is the neighborhoods property and is left trashed every night. Residents are having to clean up after others daily, and the above issues make this worse with no parental supervision. Considering all of this, the Board is making the age limit at the pool be a minimum of 18 or you must be accompanied by an adult a permanent rule. The Pool rules signs will be updated soon to reflect this. Also, the Number of guests per family is 2, not 2 per person in your family. This is to prevent overcrowding and as we have seen in many cases already one unaccompanied teen brings in a large group of friends. We are also looking for the residents who were drinking and performing excessive PDA in the pool. This will not be tolerated, and their access will be revoked.

Please remember to respect others and others property and we can continue to enjoy our neighborhood amenities. You can find the HOA Boards email addresses and the Management Company contact information on the HOA Website, Brookhavenofmargaret.com

Pool Update

The 2021 Pool Season will start Friday May 21st! We are busy adding the new access controls in and continuing to work on the chemical balances in the pool, so please stay out until the 21st. The HOA Board finally has news about the new Pool as well. Construction is scheduled to begin after Labor Day, so we should get a full Summer in with the current pool, but the new Pool will be Gunite, so no more liner, 5′ wider and 75′ long. It will include a shallow children’s area, minus the Umbrella, as seen in the attached photos. There will be a bench along the length of the pool for sitting in the water, and there will be a full 25 yard swim lane. As you can see in the overlay picture the pool will be in the same location, but extend almost to the basketball court. We will be relocating the playground to a yet undetermined location.

Pool Surveillance

Unfortunately, we continue to have problems with some residents disrespecting community property and not following rules regarding the pool and clubhouse. There were several serious violations by a select group of residents on July 4th. Residents blocked the gate to sneak in after hours, they had numerous non resident guests, the parking lot and surrounding area were left a mess.

Those residents have since had their access cards deactivated. Once again, the HOA wants to remind residents there are working cameras surrounding the pool, clubhouse and parking lot.

Video footage will be reviewed frequently and the entire area will also be monitored by HOA officers. From this point forward, any resident caught disregarding policy will have their access cards deactivated until further notice.

There are to be NO GUESTS, no one under 18 without a parent, bring your own chairs, no diving or reckless behavior. Pick up your own belongings, including your trash. Do not destroy or disrespect community property.

This is not hard folks.

Pool Hours and Rules Update

Pool Hours and Rules Update

We are not allowing visitors due to Covid-19…period.

Unsupervised minors have been disrespecting our pool rules since it has opened, resulting in the damage of the pool liner, a mess for others to clean up, and decreased hours. It is posted that no visitors are allowed and unsupervised minors are inviting in multiple guests, not allowing for social distancing, and making it uncomfortable for residents to use the pool.

This is unacceptable.

As such,

Effective Immediately no one under 18 is allowed at the pool without adult supervision. Pool hours are extended to 9pm.

Residents, it is up to you to enforce this. Help keep our pool open and operable for your enjoyment.

2020 Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale

Our Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale will be Saturday, June 27th from 8am-1pm.

Feel free to save this flyer and re-post it in other local groups. You do not need to apply for a City of Margaret Garage Sale Permit, we have obtained one for the neighborhood as well as placed classified ads with the St. Clair News-Aegis and AL.com.

Happy Selling!

Pool Update

Due to excessive misuse and disrespect, the pool hours have been changed to close at 7pm.
While the pool has only been open a few days, it has been left trashed each evening. The families that voluntarily maintain the pool should not have to clean up after residents. We will be reviewing the security footage and revoking access for residents who continue to disrespect it.

Pool Opening

The HOA has spoken with legal council and agreed that we can open the pool with limitations.

The earliest we can have the pool prepared to be open is Saturday, June 6th. It will be open that day with the attached posted policies.

You must bring your own chairs, sanitizers, and follow the posted guidelines. We are not allowing visitors at this time, the only exception being if you have a clubhouse/pool rental scheduled.

In order to maintain pool access YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY to maintain social distancing between your family and others.

These are unprecedented times so please use precaution and use the pool at your own risk.
