May 14th Noon – Pool Opening

May 21st 7am – Community Yard Sale

May 21st 3pm – Hannah Home Community Pickup

May 20th – 27th – Spring Cleanup

May 14th at Noon we will be opening the Pool and will be having Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Chips, Drinks and inflatables for the children. 

May 21st starting at 7am the Community Yard sale starts. Brookhaven and Ridgefield will both be hosting community wide yard sales that will be advertised in the St Clair Times.

Hannah Home will be coming out following the Yard Sale on Saturday May 21st to pick up anything that is not sold that you would like to donate. You can leave the donations at the end of your driveway or on the curb for pickup Monday

Spring Cleanup will be from May 20th until May 27th. More details will be discussed during the Pool Opening.

We are moving the start time for the Committee Meeting from 3 p.m. to 2 p.m. Now the meeting will take place on Sunday May 1st at 2p.m. at the Brookhaven Clubhouse. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

At the Annual Meeting we discussed starting many new committees to help the community. These included, but are not limited to:

• Welcoming Committee – Greet new residents, gather contact information and give the new residents HOA information.
• Fitness Committee – Organize Wellness events such as Zumba, Walking Groups, etc.
• Beautification Committee – Pick Home Beatification Award Nominees and manage community beautification (new flowers at the signs, advising the Board of cleanup opportunities).
• Helping Neighbor Committee – Neighbors who are willing to help neighbors, cleaning yards, pressure washing, or the like.
• Finance Committee – Help the board make educated decisions on the best investment and spending strategies, such creating a budget.
• Communication Committee – Follow up HOA communications to make sure the community is informed.
• Neighborhood Watch – Basic neighborhood watch duties. We are expecting to get a class by the police on what to look for.

We are looking for volunteers for these committees and will be having an open meeting at the Clubhouse Sunday, May 1st at 3 p.m.

We will discuss the goals of the committees, any other committees that we may need and be recruiting members for the committees. Please email me at president@brookhavenofmargaret.com if you cannot make it, but would like to volunteer or have ideas.

The Annual HOA Meeting is the second Tuesday in April, and that is Tonight, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. We look forward to seeing everybody there.

We will be having a special meeting of the HOA on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Pool Clubhouse to discuss the topics below:

• Board of Directors Openings
• HOA Management Opportunities
• Covenants & Restrictions Changes
• Cleanup of Common Areas

We will discuss the topics above and make important decisions for the future of the HOA. We look forward to seeing you there.

Road Repairs on Hathaway Lane have begun today. Please use Kent Drive to bypass the construction. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

It’s time to take nominations for HOA Officers. All positions are up for election as explained in the HOA By-Laws. The candidates will be announced and voted upon at the Annual HOA Meeting. Please contact any member of the HOA board if you are interested in serving on the HOA Board. The positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary with details of the duties of each position in the By-Laws Article IV.

The HOA Annual meeting will be held Tuesday April 12th at 7:00 PM in the Clubhouse. This is following the guidelines laid out in the HOA By-Laws which can be found in the HOA Documents Section of the HOA website.

We are excited to tell you about the new Playground that is coming to Brookhaven. We will be replacing the wooden play sets with a new Little Tykes playground seen below.  The new playground will be located at the Clubhouse between the Pool and the Basketball Court. Giffen Recreation will be begin work on the new playground in the weeks to come. The new equipment will include a much needed bike rack and a triple hoop basketball set not included in the picture.
